Algiers’ Journalists Association Denounces Provocative Statements by French Foreign Minister Regarding National Anthem

ALGIERS- The Algiers’ Journalists Association has strongly condemned the provocative remarks made by the French Foreign Minister, Catherine Colonna, regarding a section of the Algerian national anthem. The association emphasized that the national anthem holds immense significance as an expression of Algerian identity and the struggle for freedom. They underlined that it is a matter of sovereignty and insisted on the need for respect from the French side, considering the painful history between the two countries that continues to resonate through the anthem.

In a statement issued by the Algiers’ Journalists Association, President Soulaimane Abdouche highlighted the importance of the national anthem as a historical symbol for the Algerian nation.
