Appointed Permanent Ambassador to UN: Amar Bendjama presents credentials to Antonio Guterres

ALGIERS- Algeria’s new Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York, Amar Bendjama, presented his credentials to UN Secretary-General António Guterres.

“By presidential decree of 20 Ramadhan 1444 corresponding to April 11, 2023, Amar Bendjama is appointed Ambassador of Algeria and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Organization in New York”, reads the Official Gazette n. 25. He replaces Mohamed Nadir Larbaoui, appointed Director of Cabinet of the Presidency of the Republic, during the last partial cabinet reshuffle carried out by President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

Former Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Amar Bendjama was also Algerian Ambassador to Paris, Addis Ababa, London, Tokyo and Brussels.
