ALGIERS– The Spanish government has officially approved the accreditation of Abdelfetah Daghmoum as the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria to the Kingdom of Spain. This announcement was made in a statement issued on Thursday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad.

The approval comes after Algeria’s decision in June 2022 to immediately suspend the Treaty of Friendship, Good Neighborliness, and Cooperation between the two countries.

Abdelfetah Daghmoum, as the newly appointed ambassador, will play a crucial role in diplomatic relations between Algeria and Spain during a period marked by evolving dynamics.
