Algiers, Algeria | May 29, 2024 — The Algerian Red Crescent (ARC) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) sealed an “annual convention” on Tuesday in Algiers, aimed at fortifying the partnership between the two humanitarian organizations.
The convention, inked by ARC President Ibtissem Hamlaoui and ICRC mission President Valérie Aubert, signifies a comprehensive agreement spanning various domains, including training, disaster management, and first aid, along with numerous projects linking the ARC and the ICRC.
Following the signing, Mrs. Hamlaoui emphasized the convention’s scope and its significance in bolstering collaborative efforts between the two entities. She highlighted the diverse range of initiatives encompassed within the agreement, reflecting the shared commitment to humanitarian action and addressing the needs of vulnerable communities.
In response, the President of the ICRC mission in Algeria echoed Mrs. Hamlaoui’s sentiments, emphasizing the importance of the signed convention in furthering the partnership and deepening cooperation between the ARC and the ICRC. Their intensified collaboration over recent years underscores a collective dedication to advancing humanitarian endeavors and delivering essential assistance to those in need.
