ALGIERS- The Minister of Agriculture, Abdelhafid Henni, received an Argentine delegation on Tuesday, consisting of governors of Argentine provinces and the Secretary General of the Federal Council for Investment in Argentina. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation and partnership in the agricultural field.
During the meeting, the two parties discussed technical cooperation and partnership in the areas of plant and animal production, as well as agricultural research. The Minister also shared Algeria’s achievements in the agricultural field, highlighting the government’ strategy and facilitations granted to local and foreign operators under the new investment law. The aim is to strengthen food security and increase production, particularly in strategic agriculture, such as cereals, milk, vegetable oils, sugar, and fodder. The Minister also expressed Algeria’s desire to balance the balance of payments with Argentina, relaunch cooperation in scientific research, and exchange expertise for a win-win partnership between both countries.
This meeting marks an important step towards strengthening the relationship between Algeria and Argentina in the agricultural field. The exchange of knowledge and expertise will undoubtedly lead to mutual benefits and contribute to the growth of both countries’ agricultural sectors.
