ALGIERS- General of the Army Saïd Chanegriha, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army (ANP), embarked on a working and inspection visit to the headquarters of the Naval Forces Command on Tuesday.
According to a statement from the Ministry of National Defense (MDN), the General of the Army held a meeting with the officers and officials of the Naval Forces Command and congratulated them on the occasion of the 62nd anniversary of the Victory Day.
“The Chief of Staff emphasized that the naval forces’ officers are required to be constantly prepared and imbued with a sense of responsibility in carrying out their missions,” explained the same source.
During his visit, General Chanegriha reviewed the operational readiness and capabilities of the Naval Forces, emphasizing the importance of maintaining high standards of preparedness and vigilance to safeguard the nation’s maritime interests.
The inspection visit underscores the ANP’s commitment to ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of all branches of the armed forces, including the Navy, in safeguarding Algeria’s territorial waters and maritime borders.
General Chanegriha also took the opportunity to commend the dedication and professionalism demonstrated by the officers and personnel of the Naval Forces in fulfilling their duties, particularly in the face of evolving security challenges.
Furthermore, discussions during the visit likely touched upon ongoing efforts to modernize and enhance the capabilities of the Naval Forces through strategic investments in training, equipment, and infrastructure.
