Army General Saïd Changriha receives Commander of National Defense Forces of South Africa

ALGIERS- Army General Saïd Changriha, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, received, Monday, at the headquarters of the People’s National Army, Commander of the National Defense Forces of South Africa, General of the Army, Rudzani Maphwanya, who is on a working visit to Algeria, at the head of a large delegation, the Ministry of National Defense said in a press release.
During this audience, which was attended by the Secretary General of the Ministry of National Defense, the commanders of the Forces and the National Gendarmerie, the heads of departments and the central directors of the General Staff of the People’s National Army and the Ministry of National Defense, as well as members of the Russian delegation, the two parties discussed “the state of military cooperation between the armies of the two countries,” specified the same source.
They also discussed the security challenges facing the world, in general, and the African continent, in particular, and exchanged views on issues of common interest.
On this occasion, the Army General delivered a speech in which he, first of all, welcomed the South African official, as well as the delegation accompanying him, emphasizing that this visit to Algeria reflects the political will of the high authorities of the two countries to promote bilateral military cooperation to the level of the historical relations and friendship that bind the two countries.
In addition, Mr. General of the Army highlighted the real will that animates the two countries in terms of federation of efforts, for the establishment of peace and stability on the African continent:
“I would like to reaffirm our sincere determination to unite our efforts to implement dynamic cooperation that meets the aspirations of our peoples, especially since relations between the two countries have a stamp of excellence, reflected, in particular, by the common will to contribute effectively to the establishment of peace and stability on the African continent”.
For his part, Mr. General of the Army, Rudzani Maphwanya expressed his thanks for the hospitality, before emphasizing the convergence of points of view and analyzes on the continental and international questions, as well as the readiness of his country to work for the strengthening of bilateral military cooperation.
At the end of the meeting, the two parties exchanged symbolic gifts, before the Commander of the National Defense Forces of South Africa proceeded to the signing of the guest book of the General Staff of the PNA.
