At invitation of his Egyptian counterpart, Minister of Posts and Telecommunications in Cairo

ALGIERS – In a bid to strengthen bilateral ties and foster collaboration in the field of post and information and communication technologies (ICT), Minister of

is embarking on a working visit to Egypt. The invitation was extended by his Egyptian counterpart, Amro Samih Talaat, and aims to promote mutual cooperation and exchange of expertise between the two countries.

The visit, which commences today, marks an important milestone in the relationship between Algeria and Egypt. It will provide a platform for the signing of a significant memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation in the fields of post and ICT. This agreement will pave the way for enhanced collaboration, knowledge sharing, and joint initiatives to drive advancements in postal services and technological innovations.

The Algerian and Egyptian ministers will engage in productive discussions and deliberations during their visit, seeking to capitalize on the strengths and experiences of both nations. The exchange of expertise and best practices will facilitate the development of robust post and telecommunication sectors in each country, benefitting their respective populations and economies.

The memorandum of understanding is set to encompass a wide range of areas, including postal services, e-commerce, digital transformation, cybersecurity, and ICT infrastructure development. By leveraging their shared knowledge, Algeria and Egypt can explore avenues for joint projects, research, and capacity building initiatives to advance these sectors.

Both Algeria and Egypt have made significant strides in the realm of post and electronic communication. Algeria has been actively investing in infrastructure development, particularly in expanding broadband connectivity and improving digital access for its citizens. Egypt, on the other hand, has demonstrated expertise in fostering entrepreneurship and innovation in the ICT sector, positioning itself as a regional technology hub.

By fostering collaboration, Algeria and Egypt can benefit from each other’s experiences and address common challenges in the post and telecommunications sectors. This partnership will promote the sharing of successful strategies and the adoption of innovative approaches, ultimately leading to improved services, increased efficiency, and greater connectivity for their respective populations.
