ALGIERS- The Minister of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production, Ali Aoun, held a meeting with representatives of the renowned IVECO group, which specializes in the manufacturing of industrial vehicles. The Ministry released a statement on its Facebook page, highlighting the group’s interest in returning to Algeria and exploring the African market through the production of medium and heavy commercial vehicles.
During the meeting, the IVECO representatives presented their proposal to the Minister, outlining their plan to establish a project for the production of around 1,000 units per year. They also expressed their desire to partner with a private Algerian entity to facilitate their entry into the market.
The Minister emphasized the importance of adhering to the automotive sector’ specifications and regulations, particularly with regards to the established local integration rate. He also stressed the need to select a competent and suitable professional partner to ensure the project’ success. Additionally, the Minister requested a preliminary study on the Algerian market to gain a better understanding of its requirements.
