ALGIERS- The French car brand Citroën, belonging the Stellantis group, has just received its approval for the import of new vehicles. The chevron brand will be represented on the Algerian market by the Elsecom group.
In a declaration to the daily Le Soir d’Algérie, this Wednesday, April 26, 2023, the president of the Elsecom group, Abderrahmane Achaïbou, said that three approvals for the importation of new vehicles were granted by the Ministry of Industry to the company “Fiat Algérie”, dealer of the Italian brand Fiat in Algeria, the company “Emin Auto”, dealer of the Chinese brand JAC in Algeria and the company “Halil Commerce & Industrie”, dealer of the German brand “Opel” in Algeria.
“The vehicles of the Chinese brand Jac will arrive on the Algerian market next May,” announced the representative of this brand in Algeria Emin Auto, while the representative of the other Chinese brand Geely is also preparing to start importing.
On March 19, Fiat Algeria, belonging to Stellantis group, launched its activity of importing new vehicles, unveiling the models to be marketed.
As for the vehicle manufacturing plant located in Oran, it will be operational as of next August and the first vehicles will be on the Algerian market in December 2023.
