ALGIERS- The automotive market is more and more attracting foreign investors. After major European brands, the Chinese manufacturers are taking steady steps to invest in the automotive industry in Algeria.
As stated by the Chinese Ambassador to Algeria Li Jian that “Chinese companies will soon start car production in Algeria”, the Chinese state-owned automobile manufacturer Chery has obtained the initial accreditation before submitting the final accreditation file on the digital platform, pending the final approval from the Algerian authorities.
According to Dzair Tube sources, Chery, with high-quality cars and modern technology, will enter the Algerian market strongly and at competitive prices.
Earlier and in an exclusive interview granted to the Chinese television channel CGTN Français and posted on the Facebook page of the Chinese Embassy, Mr. Li Jian indicated that “in the industrial field, China is one of the main partners for the modernization and industrialization of Algeria”.
The Chinese ambassador listed several areas of this Algerian-Chinese partnership, “especially in the fields of computer technology, aerospace, medicine and health, agricultural technologists and the joint production of the vaccine (vaccine anti-Covid-19 Sinovac, editor’s note)”.
“In addition, some Chinese companies will soon start their automobile production with Algeria,” said the Chinese ambassador, who considered that “China and Algeria are linked by a strong traditional friendship” and “the Algeria is the first Arab country to establish the comprehensive strategic partnership with China. »
In the field of infrastructure, the Chinese diplomat stressed that “China is the biggest builder in Algeria. According to him, “the Great Mosque of Algiers, the East-West Highway and the Olympic Complex of Oran, are all among the flagship projects built by China. »
In the commercial sphere, he continued, “China has remained Algeria’s leading supplier since 2013, and Chinese products with very good value for money are within reach of Algerian consumers. »
Mr. Li Jian also indicated that “China welcomes Algeria’s accession to the BRICS family”.
