Algiers, Algeria | July 18th, 2024 — In an industry-leading move, Bellat Company has made significant strides in converting poultry waste into valuable animal proteins, reinforcing its position as a global leader in sustainable agriculture and innovative waste management. Spearheaded by project head Khenour Khbizet, the company has successfully established a cutting-edge facility dedicated to the conversion of poultry waste into animal proteins since 2018. This high-tech operation employs high-pressure cookers functioning at 100 bar and temperatures reaching 133 degrees Celsius, effectively transforming waste into crucial components for pet and fish feed production.
Revolutionary Export Milestones and Market Expansion
Since the inception of this facility, Bellat has exported approximately 5,000 tons of these animal proteins to Bangladesh. This remarkable achievement underscores the efficacy and quality of their production process. In a recent development, the company is in the midst of exporting an additional 1,000 tons, distributed across 28 containers. These significant exports are part of Bellat’s strategic plan to broaden its market footprint, with ongoing negotiations with potential clients in Thailand, South Africa, Nigeria, and Vietnam.
Khbizet emphasizes the importance of adhering to international regulatory standards, particularly veterinary guidelines, to ensure the smooth facilitation of exports. “Our collaboration with veterinary authorities has been crucial in expediting our export processes. Their continued support since 2018 has enabled us to meet Bangladesh’s regulatory standards efficiently. This support is pivotal as we strive to fulfill bespoke orders from clients in target countries,” he stated.
Global Reach and Strategic Presence
Bellat Group’s operational prowess is further exemplified by its extensive global footprint, operating in over 60 countries with 42 factories strategically located in critical regions including France, Portugal, Spain, Romania, Poland, Belgium, Canada, and the United States. This expansive network highlights Bellat’s commitment to delivering high-quality products to a diverse and international consumer base.
Commitment to Sustainable Development and Economic Growth
Bellat’s innovative approach not only contributes to sustainable waste management but also plays a significant role in economic development.
