Bengrina Signs First Individual Subscription Form for President Tebboune’s Candidacy in Algeria’s Presidential Elections

Algiers, Algeria | July 12th, 2024 — The President of the El-Bina Movement, Abdelkader Bengrina, has officially signed the first individual signature subscription form endorsing President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s candidacy for a second term. In a media statement, Bengrina highlighted his party’s unique stance in supporting citizen Abdelmadjid Tebboune and providing precise details regarding the timing of his candidacy.
El-Bina Movement’s Vision for a New Algeria
Bengrina disclosed that he would present candidate Tebboune with a comprehensive document outlining the party’s vision for laying the foundations of a New Algeria. This vision aligns with Tebboune’s electoral program, which aims to achieve set goals and guide Algeria towards prosperity.
Achievements and Goals
During his periodic media interview at the People’s Palace, President Tebboune stated that his decision to seek re-election was in response to requests from various political and non-political parties, organizations, and the youth. “The significant achievements that I am proud of were realized thanks to the Algerian people,” said Tebboune, recalling that during his first candidacy, he presented himself as “the candidate of the youth and civil society.” He emphasized that the worst scenario would be to remain halfway before reaching the destination.
Challenges and Accomplishments
President Tebboune assured that he would continue this trajectory if elected for a second term, expressing gratitude to the political parties that supported him. He highlighted that Algeria is now “a country that is respected militarily, politically, and in other domains,” with its accomplishments recognized by both allies and adversaries. He indicated that the next phase, if he receives the people’s mandate, will focus on “anchoring what has been initiated.”
Tebboune pointed out that his current mandate was effectively reduced to two and a half years, as the initial two years were dedicated to combating the “issaba” (gang) and dealing with the repercussions of the Covid-19 pandemic. “Algerians are now aware that their country is secure,” he said, adding that they “have the right to accept or refuse” his candidacy, reiterating that “the people are sovereign.”
Deep Faith in Algeria’s Potential
President Tebboune expressed his “deep faith, from a young age, in Algeria’s ability to make history.” He addressed past detrimental practices that remind Algerians of a painful history while emphasizing the vision of a “New Algeria.” These practices “must cease,” he insisted.
Reaffirming that “Algeria and its people have triumphed over the counter-revolution,” Tebboune warned against “remnants and opportunists on the lookout,” recalling their attempts to create instability through acts of sabotage and assaults on medical personnel, as well as attempts to provoke shortages. He explained that “the fifth column, mobilized by foreign entities, participates in this effort, with several countries desiring Algeria’s instability, as its stability equates to strength in various domains.”
Successful Visit to Tizi Ouzou
Speaking about his working and inspection visit to the wilaya of Tizi Ouzou on Wednesday, President Tebboune affirmed that it was “successful in every aspect.” He thanked the local population for the warm welcome, stating that “the wilaya of Tizi Ouzou deserves all the attention.”
Commitment to a Second Term
President Tebboune reiterated that “Algerians have understood today that the battle is real, and we have made significant strides towards victory.” He also highlighted the role of the Algerian diaspora in the overall development process, acknowledging the state’s efforts to protect their interests, which has strengthened their nationalism.
