Algiers, August 19, 2023 – In a grand display of unity and resolve, the “National Cohesion” initiative, aimed at fortifying Algeria’s internal unity and ensuring a steadfast future, was unveiled by President Abdelkader Bengrina of the El Bina Movement. The initiative’s national conference took center stage at the International Conference Center (CIC) Abdelatif Rahal, drawing over a thousand attendees comprising representatives from diverse political parties, trade unions, and civil society organizations. Notably absent were opposition parties, setting the stage for a distinct political landscape.

Amidst an air of anticipation, the launch of the “National Cohesion” initiative marked a pivotal moment in Algeria’s political landscape. The charismatic President of the El Bina Movement, Abdelkader Bengrina, orchestrated the event with flair, aiming to forge a unified front that transcends political affiliations.

In a demonstration of cross-party participation, multiple political entities joined the initiative, echoing the commitment to a united Algeria. Alongside the El Bina Movement, the event boasted representatives from prominent parties including FLN, RND, Front El Mostaqbal, UFDS, El Karama, and TAJ. Notably, a spectrum of stakeholders was present, including UGTA, the National Organization of Mujahideen (ONM), children of Chouhada, the General Confederation of Algerian Entrepreneurs (CGEA) led by Saida Neghza, APOCE (consumer rights advocacy) led by Mustapha Zebdi, and the Scouts (SMA).

Abdelkader Bengrina, the leader of the Elbina Movement, passionately expressed that the Algerian people are inherently free, born with the spirit of freedom and unwavering in their determination to remain free. He emphasized that the sons of this nation stand as staunch defenders of their homeland, committing their all to safeguarding its interests, valuing the welfare of the nation above all else.

During a pivotal moment of the national initiative aimed at fostering unity and securing a promising future, Bengrina unveiled the essence of this endeavor—a pure and heartfelt expression of devotion to Algeria. This initiative serves as a resounding message both within the nation’s borders and beyond, a testament to the Algerian identity and aspirations.

In a heartfelt address, Bengrina assured the people of Algeria that their authority and struggles would always find a loyal advocate in him and his fellow compatriots. He underlined their collective pursuit to secure the future for the next generation, striving for a life of dignity, liberty, and prosperity. Central to this vision is the establishment of a robust, social, and democratic state that not only nurtures development but also upholds the values of liberation, casting off any remnants of colonialism and tyranny.

Bengrina further endeavored to unite the people by highlighting the convergence of minds at the national symposium, where their collective commitment to national cohesion was demonstrated. This unity, he articulated, was the key to fortifying the homeland against any external threats.

The movement’s leader extended gratitude to President Abdelmadjid Tebboune for his unwavering support in advancing national goals and rallying citizens together. Bengrina recognized the significance of this support, expressing hope that it would serve as a catalyst for a broader national dialogue, one that would encapsulate the concerns, opportunities, and challenges of all segments of society.

Amidst the numerous challenges faced, Bengrina, on behalf of the movement, pledged wholehearted collaboration in tackling these obstacles. The movement, he assured, stands ready with collective proposals to alleviate the burdens and challenges ahead. The unwavering support offered extended to efforts that honor the sacrifices of the fallen, enhance citizen happiness, promote community well-being, secure stability, and uphold rights and freedoms. This support, he emphasized, would also encompass diplomatic initiatives safeguarding Algeria’s vital interests.

Bengrina conveyed heartfelt appreciation and unyielding support to Algeria’s People’s National Army and various security forces. Acknowledging their dedication to safeguarding the nation, he reassured them of the unity and strength of purpose shared between the movement and these security institutions.

Turning his gaze outward, Bengrina urged Algeria’s regional peers to respect its unwavering sovereignty, unaffected by any external influences. He extended a promise of reliability to Algeria’s allies, pledging a steadfast commitment to promises made, consistent with the nation’s character of integrity.

Further, Bengrina underscored Algeria’s commitment to peace and adherence to international resolutions. He emphasized the importance of collaboration based on mutual respect and shared interests, while rejecting projects aimed at domination, injustice, and chaos.

The leader also conveyed a message of hope to the Sahel and Sahara regions, envisioning a future marked by unity, decision-making sovereignty, and prosperity, driven by the African people’s will.

Bengrina’s compassion extended to oppressed peoples worldwide, particularly those in Palestine and Western Sahara. He pledged enduring solidarity, recognizing that their struggles mirrored Algeria’s own journey to regain its rightful place and sovereignty.

Concluding his address, Bengrina emphasized that the national initiative was a reflection of unwavering devotion to the homeland. He clarified that this was not a fleeting event or a demonstration of political allegiance, but a sincere and profound entitlement, a commitment shared by all Algerians. This initiative, he declared, encapsulates the essence of Algeria’s identity, a resounding message echoing within the nation and reaching across its borders.

As Algeria sets its sights on a dynamic future, President Abdelkader Bengrina’s “National Cohesion” initiative stands as a testament to his unwavering commitment to a united and resilient nation. With a diverse assembly of stakeholders rallying behind the cause, this endeavor serves as a symbol of hope and determination in the face of evolving challenges. The road ahead may be arduous, but the unity on display today ignites a spark of optimism that Algeria’s future will be forged on the bedrock of solidarity and shared purpose.

Bengrina’ Speech:

Ladies and Gentlemen,

May the peace, blessings, and mercy of God be upon all of you.

At the outset of this address, I extend my heartfelt greetings to our esteemed Algerian people, and I extend my sincere congratulations on the occasion of the National Mujahid Day. This commemorative day holds great significance, as we gather here at this distinguished national symposium.

I am truly grateful for the conscientious and responsible response that each one of you has shown by answering the call of our homeland. Your presence at this historic gathering underlines your dedication to our nation and its future.

In the limited time I have, I wish to convey several messages that are close to my heart:

First and foremost, our message is directed to our righteous martyrs and valiant fighters. To them, we pledge our unwavering loyalty. We honor their sacrifices, which were instrumental in building our beloved homeland and defending its borders, etched in history by their unwavering dedication. The Algerian spirit, rooted in our Islamic values and the resounding echoes of the November Revolution, forms the bedrock of our unity and the foundation of our state.

Secondly, our message reaches out to the Algerian people – a people who fiercely guard their sovereignty, uphold their identity, and take immense pride in their history. Born free, they shall remain so, as their sons and daughters stand as sentinels protecting the homeland with every fiber of their being. We pledge to honor their authority, struggles, and aspirations for a prosperous future, where dignity, rights, and freedoms flourish within the confines of a robust social and democratic state. This state shall champion development and advocate for liberation, countering all forms of colonialism and tyranny.

Our third message is directed to President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. We appreciate his support for national endeavors that bolster our unity and strengthen our collective resolve. We recognize the significance of his embrace and urge the expansion of these efforts into a space for national dialogue, encompassing all our nation’s forces to address political, economic, and social challenges. As representatives of diverse political and societal groups, we are fully aware of the risks and challenges that lie ahead. We stand united with our proposals, ready to shoulder the responsibilities and costs required to surmount these challenges.

To our People’s National Army and various security forces, our fourth message resounds. We stand by your side with unwavering strength and determination, fully aware of your capabilities and commitment to protect Algeria’s national security. We extend our support to your professional development, embracing all avenues that will elevate your effectiveness.

The fifth message is a shared one – to our regional neighbors, friends of Algeria, Mediterranean peers, countries of the Sahel and Sahara, and all oppressed peoples yearning for justice. We affirm our unwavering commitment to maintaining a sovereign stance that is impervious to external influence. Algeria remains true to its word and upholds its principles, fostering peace, adhering to international legitimacy, and advocating cooperation based on equality and shared interests. We express our hope for a new era in Africa, marked by self-determination and the will of its people.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

This national initiative is a manifestation of pure dedication to our country. Let it be clear to us and to our fellow citizens that it transcends the fleeting moment or partisan affiliation. It’s a collective commitment, a testament to our national responsibility, and a resounding Algerian message both within our borders and beyond.

We acknowledge that our actions are closely monitored by those who oppose Algeria’s progress, yet our resolve remains unwavering. As we stand united under the banner of this initiative, we are determined to navigate the challenges ahead with awareness, national responsibility, and the collective strength of our people.

In closing, I assert that this initiative stands as the largest endeavor witnessed in our national history since independence. Over 95% of our representatives from local and national councils stand together, united in purpose. While some of our fellow partners are not yet with us, let us work diligently to engage them, for Algeria’s liberation and prosperity were achieved by all those who believed in its potential.

May peace, mercy, and blessings be upon you all.
