ALGIERS- The Minister of Communication, Mohamed Bouslimani, affirmed, on Tuesday in Algiers, that the state was betting on national electronic websites to contribute, alongside other media outlets, to confronting tendentious allegations against Algeria.
Presiding over the launch of a training session for the benefit of the electronic press at the Center for Training in Audiovisual Professions (CFMA) at the International Press Center (CIP), Mr. Bouslimani observed that “the institution of a law for the organization of the electronic press instead of the regulatory text currently in force reflects the commitment of the state to promote professional journalism by establishing new legal provisions guaranteeing the free exercise of this activity in compliance with the law.”
In this context, the Minister underlined that “the state relies on Algerian electronic websites to fully carry out their missions and contribute, alongside other media outlets, to defending our constants and institutions and to supporting the process of the building of New Algeria, while facing tendentious allegations against our country.”
“Today’s world is an electronic world par excellence, to which we must adapt through the preparation of adequate tools and conditions, such as training and the use of an effective and participatory legal system”, he said.
Mr. Bouslimani assured, at the end of his speech, that his sector would continue to organize these training sessions for the benefit of press professionals in accordance with the provisions of the organic law relating to the information.
On the eve of the celebration of World Press Freedom Day, the minister did not fail to present his congratulations to the entire media corporation, wishing them every success.
Noting that this three-day training session will address several areas related to journalistic work, the internet, as well as the techniques used in the production of digital content. There will also be a presentation on the best programs and applications used in this field.
