Boosting Algerian Household Electrical Product Exports: Minister of Trade Holds Meeting to Discuss Strategies

ALGIERS- In a proactive move to enhance the export potential of Algerian household electrical products in international markets, Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Tayeb Zitouni, convened a working meeting on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at the ministry’s headquarters.
The meeting was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production, as well as Kamel Moula, the Head of the Algerian Economic Renewal Council, accompanied by CEOs of leading companies in the household electrical products industry.
Also present were representatives from the Bank of Algeria, the General Directorate of Customs, and Tarek Boulmerka, the President of the National Association of Algerian Exporters, in adherence to the directives of the Prime Minister.
The primary focus of the meeting was to explore avenues for strengthening the export of Algerian household electrical products in international markets, particularly in major commercial centers. Emphasis was placed on ensuring post-sales services to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Discussions during the meeting revolved around the challenges facing exporters in boosting Algerian exports of household electrical products. This comes in response to the significant demand observed for Algerian brands in various international markets, attributed to their quality, competitiveness, and adherence to international standards.
The attendees deliberated on strategies to overcome obstacles and capitalize on opportunities to further penetrate global markets. Key considerations included improving product marketing and distribution channels, enhancing product quality and innovation, streamlining export procedures, and providing adequate after-sales support to ensure customer satisfaction.
The Minister underscored the importance of collaboration between government agencies, industry stakeholders, and financial institutions to effectively address challenges and facilitate the export process. He emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting Algerian exporters and creating an enabling environment for their success in international trade.
The outcome of the meeting is expected to inform policy decisions and initiatives aimed at promoting Algerian household electrical products on the global stage, thereby contributing to the growth and competitiveness of the Algerian export sector.
