Boughali Commends President Tebboune’s Initiative for an Inclusive National Dialogue

Algiers, Algeria | January 16th, 2025 — On Thursday, Mr. Brahim Boughali, Speaker of the People’s National Assembly (APN), lauded the initiative of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to launch an inclusive national dialogue aimed at advancing Algeria’s institutional reform. The dialogue is designed to expand consultations on draft laws and ensure a comprehensive, realistic approach that will improve governance, reinforce national cohesion, and enhance resilience, thereby safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and independent decision-making.

Boughali emphasized that this initiative aligns with the broader goals of the national reform agenda, underscoring its importance in creating optimal conditions to serve the Algerian people. He expressed confidence that the dialogue would lead to the strengthening of the nation’s institutions and provide the foundation for future prosperity, both domestically and in terms of Algeria’s role on the international stage.

Furthermore, Boughali expressed his appreciation for the recent ceasefire agreement in Gaza, which he hailed as a critical step towards ending the suffering of the Palestinian people. He described the agreement as a glimmer of hope for achieving stability in the region, reaffirming Algeria’s unwavering stance in favor of a comprehensive and just solution to the Palestinian issue. This solution, according to Boughali, should guarantee the full restoration of Palestinian rights, with the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, with Al-Quds (Jerusalem) as its capital.

The President of the APN reiterated that Algeria remains a steadfast supporter of Palestine and will continue to advocate for its cause on the international stage. He also reiterated the Algerian government’s dedication to regional peace, security, and stability, working toward diplomatic solutions to current crises and ongoing conflicts.

This endorsement of President Tebboune’s call for national dialogue and the reaffirmation of Algeria’s position on Palestine reflect the nation’s commitment to both internal reform and external diplomacy, aiming to create a more stable, just, and sovereign future for Algeria and the broader Arab and African regions.
