Boughali, Bouderbala Discuss Enhanced Algeria-Tunisia Cooperation, Firm Support for Palestinian Statehood

Algiers, Algeria | July 26th, 2024 —  On Friday, Brahim Boughali, Speaker of the Algerian People’s National Assembly (APN), met with Brahim Bouderbala, President of the Assembly of the Representatives of the People (ARP) of Tunisia. The meeting, held at the ARP headquarters in Tunis, emphasized the need for strengthened coordination between the two nations in both international and regional forums.

Strengthening Parliamentary Cooperation

During their discussions, Boughali and Bouderbala highlighted the deep historical bonds and robust relations between Algeria and Tunisia. They addressed the current challenges that necessitate enhanced cooperation, emphasizing the significance of this partnership in international and regional organizations.

Both leaders agreed to intensify their efforts and enhance parliamentary collaboration to better reflect the close relationship between their countries. Bouderbala underscored the long-standing camaraderie between their peoples, while Boughali reaffirmed the APN’s commitment to deepening these ties and invigorating parliamentary actions in line with the cooperative spirit established by their nations’ leaders.

Support for a Sovereign Palestinian State

The situation in occupied Palestine was also a focal point of their conversation. Boughali and Bouderbala condemned the ongoing violence by the Zionist entity, labeling it a “crime against humanity.” They commended the global stance of states and peoples opposing injustice, dominance, and tyranny.

At the conclusion of their meeting, Boughali signed the ARP’s Golden Book. The two leaders issued a joint statement reaffirming their steadfast support for the Palestinian cause, stressing the right of the Palestinian people to establish an independent state with El Quds as its capital.
