Brahim Boughali Meets with Tunisian President Kaïs Saïed: Strengthening Bilateral Ties, Economic Partnerships

Algiers, Algeria | July 30th, 2024 — On Monday, Brahim Boughali, Speaker of the Algerian People’s National Assembly (APN), was warmly welcomed by Tunisian President Kaïs Saïed in Tunis, as reported by a communiqué from the APN.

During their meeting, President Saïed underscored the profound fraternal bonds between Algeria and Tunisia, highlighting the close collaboration between himself and Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. Saïed lauded the successful outcomes of the recent Algeria-Tunisia-Libya Tripartite Summit, reflecting on the shared history, robust current relationship, and promising future of bilateral ties.

Saïed conveyed his satisfaction with the alignment of perspectives on pivotal issues, including the Palestinian cause and regional security challenges. He emphasized that Tunisia’s security is closely tied to that of Algeria, underscoring the necessity of mutual cooperation to address shared concerns. Saïed also commended the progress made in enhancing economic relations between the two countries.

In response, Boughali relayed President Tebboune’s greetings to President Saïed and extended heartfelt congratulations to the Tunisian people on the occasion of the 67th Republic Day, expressing wishes for continued prosperity and stability.

Boughali also engaged with Ibrahim Bouderbala, President of the Tunisian Assembly of the Representatives of the People (ARP), where he emphasized the positive parliamentary relations and cooperation between Algeria and Tunisia. He expressed a strong desire to further develop bilateral relations and economic partnerships to align the interests of both nations more closely.

In concluding his visit, Boughali expressed gratitude to President Saïed for his hospitality and expressed his contentment with the state of Algeria-Tunisia relations. He also extended his best wishes for success in the upcoming Tunisian presidential elections scheduled for October.
