Bulgaria’s Deputy FM Kostadin Kodzhabashev Welcomes New Algerian Ambassador

ALGIERS- In a ceremony held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bulgaria’s Deputy Minister Kostadin Kodzhabashev received copies of the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria to Bulgaria, Messaoud Mehila. The meeting between the two officials highlighted the commitment of both countries to further strengthen bilateral cooperation and enhance political dialogue at the highest levels.

During the discussion, Deputy Minister Kodzhabashev emphasized the significance of Algeria as a vital economic partner for Bulgaria in the North African region. He underscored the need to reinforce ties in key areas such as energy, defense industry, and tourism. Additionally, the possibility of conducting political consultations between the foreign ministries of both nations was explored, aiming to facilitate a deeper understanding and collaboration on important regional and global issues.

The talks with Ambassador Mehila focused on the immense potential for the expansion of trade and economic relations between Bulgaria and Algeria. Both parties expressed their optimism about the prospects for high-level meetings in the future, including a visit by the Bulgarian Foreign Minister to Algeria and preparations for a state visit by President Rumen Radev. These upcoming engagements are expected to provide a significant boost to the bilateral relations between the two countries.

Deputy Minister Kodzhabashev conveyed his best wishes to Ambassador Mehila for a successful tenure and expressed his confidence in the fruitful cooperation that lies ahead. In response, Ambassador Mehila expressed his gratitude to the Deputy Minister and conveyed his hope for a mutually beneficial partnership during his ambassadorship in Bulgaria.

The appointment of Ambassador Mehila to Bulgaria signifies the strong commitment of both nations to further enhance their diplomatic ties and explore new avenues for collaboration. As Bulgaria continues to strengthen its partnerships in the North African region, the arrival of the new Algerian Ambassador sets the stage for a promising future of cooperation and shared prosperity between the two countries.
