Statements from players of the national football team, collected by APS on Saturday, during a mixed zone organized with the media, shortly before the last training session, carried out at the southern annex of the Japoma stadium, in 24 hours of the match against Equatorial Guinea, Sunday (8:00 p.m.), on behalf of the 2nd day (Gr.E) of the CAN-2021 African Cup of Nations (postponed to 2022) in Cameroon (January 9 – February 6 ):
Mohamed Amine Tougaï (defender): “Coming back to the game against Sierra Leone (0-0), we didn’t have a bad game. Despite this poor performance, there is an excellent state of mind. We talked to each other, the players, with the staff, about the need to redeem ourselves and win this match against Equatorial Guinea. Without worrying about the weather conditions, we will approach this match with our means and qualities to win. The support of our supporters is important in this kind of meeting, their messages encourage us to start on the right foot Coach Djamel Belmadi was very agitated on the bench against Sierra Leone because of the missed opportunities, we will try to be more effective on Sunday”.
Mohamed Amine Amoura (striker): “All matches are difficult.
We must react quickly from this match against Equatorial Guinea.
Against Sierra Leone, we were not effective up front, we must remedy that and regain our effectiveness. On a personal level, I remain at the disposal of the coach, and ready to take my place if I have the opportunity to do so.
Lyes Chetti (defender): “The match promises to be difficult, especially since the opponent will do everything to beat us. We have to stay focused to get the victory. We would have liked to start the tournament with a success, but unfortunately that didn’t “It didn’t happen. We lacked efficiency in attack. Sunday night, we will approach this game with maximum concentration to play well and win. We are not focusing on the opponent, which is the most important is that we are in good shape on D-Day.
