ALGIERS- The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and Minister of National Defense sent, this Thursday, a message of condolences to the family of the martyr, Captain Mohamed Tanah.
The deceased bravely fell on the field of honor following a clash with a terrorist group in the wilaya of Tissemsilt.
As part of the efforts of the various units of our Armed Forces in the fight against terrorism, and following a search and combing operation carried out on May 10, 2023, in the area of Ain Kasseria in Sidi Mesbah, near the town of Brodj Al Emir Abdelakder, wilaya of Tissemsilt in the 2nd Military Region, and during a clash with a terrorist group spotted by detachments of the People’s National Army, Captain Mohamed Tenah bravely fell as a martyr in the field of honor.
“In this painful circumstance, Army General Saïd Chanegriha, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, presents his sincere condolences and deep compassion to the family of the Chahid, Captain Tenah Mohamed, praying to Allah Almighty to grant him His Holy Mercy and to welcome him into His Vast Paradise,” reads a press release from the Ministry of National Defense.
In a related context, four terrorists have been neutralized. They are Rachid Belagbane, known as Oudaï, who joined terrorist groups in 2003; Hamza Zouaber, who joined terrorist groups in 2016, Bilal Nouaouer, who joined terrorist groups in 2016, and Ibrahim Khebbaz, known as Abdelouadoud, according to the press release from the ministry.
The operation also resulted in the recovery of three Kalashnikov-type submachine guns, a Simonov-type semi-automatic rifle, a grenade, quantities of ammunition, and other effects.
These commendable outcomes serve as a testament to the unwavering determination and resolve of the units engaged in the fight against terrorism. Their efforts aim to rid our country of the remnants of terrorist groups and eradicate this scourge from our national territory.
In summary, this operation, along with the previous ones, has significantly contributed to the ongoing fight against terrorism. It is a clear indication of the ANP’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of our citizens.
