Challenging Arab Silence: Belkacem Djir’s Call to Action Amidst Paradox of Moroccan Drug Dealers and Arab Inertia in Ongoing Zionist Genocidal War

ALGIERS- In a thought-provoking episode of his show (Question Mark) on Dzair Tube, Algerian journalist Belkacem Djir has ignited a fiery debate questioning the collective response of Arab countries that normalized ties with the Zionist entity to the prolonged tragedy unfolding in Palestine. Djir’s impassioned reflections have exposed the glaring disparities between rhetoric and action in addressing one of the most pressing humanitarian crises of our time.

Djir’s program, which has since gone viral, vividly portrays the stark reality of complicity and inertia in the face of relentless violence and atrocities perpetrated against the Palestinian people. Against the backdrop of over four months of relentless killing and mass extermination in Gaza, Djir challenges Arab leaders who normalized ties with the criminal entity  to confront their silence and inaction.

Amid escalating death tolls and unabated atrocities, Djir paints a damning picture of Arab governments’ failure to take decisive measures against the Zionist occupation. Despite the passage of four months and ongoing bloodshed, not a single Arab nation involved in normalization with the Zionist entity has signaled any intention to sever ties or condemn the occupation’s crimes.

Djir’s critique extends to the Palestinian leadership, particularly President Mahmoud Abbas, whose adherence to diplomatic niceties and reliance on peace frameworks stand in stark contrast to the urgency of the crisis on the ground. Djir questions Abbas’s continued security coordination with the Zionist entity and the Palestinian Authority’s crackdown on dissent within the occupied territories.

The journalist also highlights the complicity of Palestinian security forces in collaborating with Zionist authorities, suppressing resistance movements, and quashing solidarity marches in the West Bank, El Quds, and Nablus. Djir emphasizes the disconnect between the suffering of the Palestinian people and the political maneuvering of their leadership.

Djir’s scathing indictment extends beyond political elites to encompass broader societal attitudes, lamenting the apathy and indifference of some Arab citizens towards the plight of their Palestinian brethren. He challenges Arab nations to break their silence and take concrete actions to support the Palestinian cause, echoing calls for a unified Arab response to the ongoing crisis.

Drawing parallels with historical injustices and global solidarity movements, Djir urges Arab nations to emulate the principled stance of South Africa’s anti-apartheid struggle by boycotting and isolating the Zionist entity diplomatically, economically, and militarily. He envisions a scenario where Arab states collectively leverage their resources and influence to confront the Zionist entity’s aggression and challenge Western complicity.

The journalist went on to say, “Imagine if Arab countries collectively provided all humanitarian aid, including food and medicine, to the Palestinian people. Imagine if Egypt decided to open the Rafah border crossing and allowed all types of aid, including weapons, to enter for the resistance. Picture a scenario where Arabs convened once and decided to threaten the United States and the Zionist entity with military intervention in defense of the Palestinian people. Envision Arab nations halting oil and gas supplies to Western countries or merely threatening to use oil as leverage. Consider whether it is our right as Arab peoples to imagine an Arab renaissance or dream of Arab unity. Reflect on the irony that Moroccan hashish and drug dealers, by boycotting Zionist customers in solidarity with the besieged people of Gaza, demonstrate more integrity than Arab rulers who collaborate with the criminal entity. Contemplate whether these actions, or the lack thereof, define the Arab world’s moral and political standing.”

And to add: “However, these drug dealers demonstrate more integrity than the rulers who, by comparison, are less honorable. They exhibit greater dignity and purity compared to figures like King Mohammed VI, who is seen as collaborating with foreign interests, or leaders like Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed in the UAE, who are aligning with Zionist agendas.”

In conclusion, Djir’s poignant reflections serve as a wake-up call to Arab societies, urging them to transcend complacency and passivity in the face of injustice. His impassioned plea for unity, solidarity, and decisive action underscores the imperative for Arab nations to reclaim their agency and uphold their moral obligations towards the Palestinian people.
