ALGIERS– In a display of national pride and commitment to the military institution, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defense, presided over the prestigious graduation ceremony for the 2022-2023 promotions at the Military Academy of Cherchell “Houari-Boumediene” on Sunday.
The President then reviewed the immaculately disciplined military formations at the Place d’armes, symbolizing the strength and readiness of Algeria’s armed forces.
The event commenced with a stunning flyby of a squadron of six L-39 advanced training aircraft, elegantly painting the sky of the academy with the national colors. Shortly after, a formation of six helicopters paid tribute to the President of the Republic.
A significant highlight of the ceremony was the delivery of grades and certificates to the promotion majors, marking the culmination of their hard work and dedication. In a moment of great reverence, President Tebboune honored the outgoing promotions by approving the name of the late mujahid, Colonel Mohamed Salah Yahiaoui, as their official designation.
Throughout the ceremony, various formations of the ANP showcased their exceptional professionalism through captivating military exhibitions. These displays reflected the result of the President’s personal supervision, which Army General Saïd Chanegriha acknowledged in his opening address. General Chanegriha expressed his appreciation for President Tebboune’s unwavering commitment to the Cherchell Military Academy, highlighting its significance as the backbone of the ANP’s training system.
Furthermore, General Chanegriha emphasized the exceptional support provided to the Academy, along with other ANP training schools, ensuring all necessary conditions, human resources, and material resources were made available. This commitment played a vital role in the realization of the military institution’s modernization and professionalization strategy.
The courtyard of the Academy became an arena for military displays, featuring simulations of close combat and collective movements, both armed and unarmed. The audience was captivated by the skill and precision demonstrated by the soldiers, highlighting the extensive training received at the Cherchell Military Academy.
The ceremony drew to a grand finale with a parade accompanied by the resounding tunes of military music, performed by a troop of the Republican Guard. The procession paid a final tribute to President Tebboune as he departed from the headquarters of the Academy.
