ALGIERS- Chery, the renowned Chinese automotive brand, has officially launched its lineup in Algeria, marking a significant milestone in the automotive landscape of the country. Aimen Cheriet, the General Manager of Chery Algeria, shared key details about the prices, delivery timeline, and order placement during a press conference.

Cheriet unveiled, in a statement to Dzair Tube, that the specific prices for Chery models would be disclosed in designated showrooms across various regions. Importantly, he emphasized that the delivery period for Chery cars is set to be remarkably short, ensuring that owners receive their vehicles in less than 45 days from the date of order placement.

“The orders for Chery cars will be open in the next few days,” added Cheriet, creating anticipation among Algerian consumers eager to explore Chery’s offerings.

Notably, Chery Algeria unveiled competitive prices, positioning the brand as one of the most affordable options in the Algerian market, especially when compared to European and Chinese counterparts. The introduction of a new car with international specifications at a price below 200 million cents underscores Chery’s commitment to providing quality vehicles at accessible rates.

Auto Leader Company, on Thursday, made the official announcement of the Chery car brand’s launch in Algeria, showcasing the brand’s updated image. The revelation included the pricing details for Chery’s diverse range of models, which are expected to be available in Algeria before the conclusion of 2023.

The Minister of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production, Ali Aoun, and the Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Tayeb Zitouni, jointly inaugurated the official marketing of the Chinese car brand “Chery” in Algiers. The presence of both ministers, alongside a substantial gathering of journalists, underscored the profound significance of this occasion, marking a groundbreaking milestone in Algeria’s automotive landscape.

This launch is not merely the introduction of a new brand but a transformative moment that reflects the government’s commitment to fostering diversity and innovation within the Algerian automotive market. The Tiggo 8 Max 2.0 TGDI 7 DCT stands out as one of the flagship models, boasting a 7-speed automatic transmission and remarkable power. Priced at 539 million and 900, this model combines luxury with enhanced off-road performance. The Tiggo 8 Max features a 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre turbo engine, an electronic gear-shifting system, and the T1X platform, ensuring optimal off-road capabilities.

The exterior design of the Tiggo 8 Max is marked by front and rear LED lights, a sturdy aluminum roof rack, and exterior rearview mirrors. Safety features and modern technologies abound, including a parking sensor, a high-quality 12.3-inch display screen, a touchscreen for air conditioning, an electronic parking brake, a robust car body, tire pressure sensors, a modern driver assistance system, and airbags.
