Algiers, November 15, 2023 – The Director General of the Chinese automotive brand Chery in Algeria, Karim Bensaad, has set a bold target of supplying at least 60,000 cars to the Algerian market by 2024 to meet the escalating demand. Bensaad emphasized that this ambitious goal is necessary to address the overwhelming interest expressed by consumers.
Currently holding a quota of 10,000 cars to be delivered by the end of 2023, Bensaad revealed that the number of registered customers seeking to purchase Chery vehicles has already reached 17,000. Speaking about the growing demand, he stated, “I can market more than 50,000 cars per year; we need at least 60,000 cars for the year 2024. However, the decision regarding quotas rests with the State.”
Bensaad pointed out that a higher quantity of vehicles could lead to more favorable negotiations and lower prices for consumers. He explained, “The larger the quantity, the lower the prices because the negotiation will be better.”
Addressing concerns about speculators acquiring vehicles for resale, Chery’s Director General assured that the company has implemented a robust system to protect consumers and prevent resale by unauthorized parties. “We have established a system ensuring that Chery vehicles go to end-users and not to resellers, in accordance with the specifications set by the Ministry of Industry,” he declared.
The commitment to preventing speculation aligns with the broader goal of fostering a fair and transparent automotive market in Algeria. Chery’s approach emphasizes customer satisfaction and accessibility while navigating the challenges of meeting the increasing demand for their vehicles.
As Chery aims to play a significant role in the Algerian automotive landscape, the company’s strategies and commitment to market integrity will likely contribute to a positive consumer experience and the continued growth of the brand in the country.
