Chinese Ambassador Dong Guangli Reaffirms Beijing’s Firm Support for Algeria’s Global Leadership Role

Algiers, Algeria | January 17th, 2025 — His Excellency Dong Guangli, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Algeria, reaffirmed Beijing’s unwavering support for Algeria’s growing diplomatic influence on the international stage, particularly within the UN Security Council, the Arab League, and the African Union.

Following the official presentation of his credentials to President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Ambassador Dong stated: “China stands firmly with Algeria in fully assuming its role in both regional and global affairs. We are committed to supporting Algeria’s positive contributions to international stability and development.”

Expressing profound honor in representing his nation in Algeria, Dong emphasized the deep-rooted historical and revolutionary ties uniting the two countries. He pledged to work tirelessly to implement the strategic directives set forth by the leadership of both nations, underlining his personal commitment: “I will spare no effort in fulfilling my mission and advancing the shared vision of our two countries.”

The Chinese diplomat underscored the importance of bolstering political trust while expanding economic and trade collaboration, particularly in the domain of investment. He further called for increased Chinese investments in Algeria and the diversification of cultural and humanitarian exchanges, emphasizing that such cooperation would “fortify the bonds of friendship between our peoples.”

Reflecting on the historical solidarity between Algeria and China, Dong praised Algeria’s developmental trajectory under President Tebboune’s leadership, stating: “Algeria has firmly embarked on a developmental path aligned with its national realities under President Tebboune’s enlightened leadership. We are inspired by its progress.”

Looking ahead, Ambassador Dong expressed his aspiration for deeper bilateral synergy, highlighting mutual learning from the nations’ strategic policies to achieve common objectives. “Together, we will strive for strategic complementarity, mutual inspiration, and shared progress, ensuring that these efforts yield lasting benefits for both our peoples,” he added.

Concluding his statement, Dong stressed the shared vision of both countries in advocating global stability, remarking: “China and Algeria can jointly contribute to fostering global peace, security, and prosperity.”
