ALGIERS- The Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Algeria, Li Jian, has emphasized that Algeria offers significant investment opportunities. He noted that “significant progress has been made over three years,” attracting foreign direct investment.

In a statement to the press on Saturday during a tree-planting event at Dounia Park in Algiers, Ambassador Li Jian asserted that Chinese economic operators are interested in Algeria’s potential. He highlighted a recent Sino-Algerian business forum held in the province of Sétif, where twenty Chinese companies engaged in business-to-business (B2B) meetings with Algerian entrepreneurs. Several partnership contracts were signed during the event.

“We need to work together in seamless synergy so that investors can fully benefit from these opportunities,” he remarked. Ambassador Li Jian further noted that 2023 was a positive year for bilateral relations between the two countries, marked by “a successful visit by President Tebboune to China.” He also mentioned China’s participation in the construction of the green dam project.

The Ambassador’s remarks underscore the growing economic cooperation between China and Algeria, reflecting a mutual commitment to fostering robust investment and trade ties. As both nations continue to strengthen their partnership, opportunities for collaboration in various sectors are expected to expand, contributing to sustainable development and mutual prosperity.
