ALGIERS- Faithful to its commitments as a citizen enterprise that practices corporate social responsibility (CSR), Coca-Cola is launching a solidarity operation on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan targeting destitute families through 20 provinces of the country, in partnership with Ness El Khir Foundation. For every 1.5L Coca-Cola “ribbon” bottle sold, Coca-Cola will donate the equivalent of 10 DZD to Ness El Khir Foundation.
On the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, Coca-Cola is, once again, celebrating the spirit of
solidarity and mutual aid, collaborating with Ness El Khir Foundation for the “ADJI
TEFTER” under the slogan “Hand in hand, Coca-Cola unites us,” according to a statement issued by the company.
The Coca-Cola system in Algeria, composed of the Coca-Cola Export Corporation and its bottling partner ‘Equatorial Coca-Cola Bottling Company Algeria,’ in partnership with Ness El Khir Foundation, set up the goal of distributing more than 40,000 meals in 20 provinces of the country.
The communiqué noted that “the distributed meals meet international quality, hygiene ‘health’ and safety standards”, adding that this partnership “is part of Coca-Cola’s ongoing commitment to
social cohesion and support for Algerian communities”.
True to its mission of “Refresh the World, Make a Difference”, this action was aimed at further strengthening the spirit of sharing and mutual aid, two fundamental values for social cohesion and well-being.
“Solidarity is one of Coca-Cola’s core values. It is important for us to
support the communities, even more during times of fasting. This solidarity initiative reflects
the long-term commitment of Coca-Cola to the Algerians,” pointed out Hala Abdel Wadood, Director of Public Affairs, Communication and Sustainable Development for Coca-Cola in North Africa.
“As for Equatorial Coca-Cola Bottling Company, we have established, as part of our ESG commitments ‘environmental, social and governance metrics’, a long-standing partnership with our communities with a view to creating a long-term value for a common future. Through this initiative, we would like to accompany our communities in Algeria and support them during the holy month of Ramadan” declared Wahib Benaissa-Tahar, Director General of Equatorial Coca-Cola Bottling Company Algeria.
” Ness El Khir Foundation is organizing in collaboration with Coca-Cola, the 12th edition of the
Ramadan project, a symbol of mutual aid that will cover the destitute families in different Algerian regions,” highlighted Dounia Larnache, Vice-President of Ness El Khir Foundation.
