Wilayas lagging behind in terms of development will be supported through “complementary” programs to meet the aspirations of citizens, the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, announced on Tuesday.
Speaking during his periodic interview with national media representatives broadcast on Tuesday evening, President Tebboune mentioned wilayas which are experiencing “a delay like Khenchela which, he believes, is a priority in terms of investment, then the wilaya of Tissemsilt which is lagging behind enormously, particularly with regard to opening up and employment”.
Other high plateau wilayas such as Naama, El Bayedh, Djelfa and Laghouat are also concerned by these programs, continues President Tebboune.
Responding to a question on the possibility of scheduling visits to wilayas in the country, the Head of State said that some wilayas do not attract investors and have no liabilities in industry or production, where the need to find other solutions”.
It is important to work to remedy the shortcomings recorded in terms of development at the level of these wilayas, he added.
“The visits will take place”, he reassured, adding that “contact with the citizen is important”.
“The citizen expects more than a simple visit, he aspires to the prosperity of the country”, continued the President.
“I say it again and again, we are trying to rebuild a state in the true sense of the word…a modern state that meets the aspirations of the citizen,” said President Tebboune.
