Construction Begins on Algerian-Qatari-German Hospital: A Landmark in Algeria’s Healthcare Revolution

Algiers, Algeria | August 29th, 2024 — The groundbreaking ceremony for the highly anticipated Algerian-Qatari-German Hospital took place today in the newly developed city of Sidi Abdellah, on the outskirts of the capital. Designed to accommodate 300 beds, the hospital will dedicate 94% of its capacity to medical care, with 48% of its resources focused on surgical procedures, including a dedicated 24-bed unit for gynecology and neonatal care. In addition to these facilities, the hospital will feature 13 state-of-the-art operating theaters and 12 dialysis chairs, making it one of the most advanced healthcare establishments in the country.

The Minister of Health, Abdelhak Saihi, highlighted the transformative potential of the hospital for Algeria’s healthcare system. “This institution will significantly enhance our national healthcare capabilities, responding to the growing demand for high-quality medical services,” Saihi noted. The hospital will offer a comprehensive range of medical, surgical, pediatric, and obstetric services, alongside specialized treatments such as liver transplants and cardiac surgery, positioning it as a critical node in Algeria’s health infrastructure.
