ALGIERS- The Minister of Finance, Laaziz Faid, the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Karim Bibi Triki, and the Governor of the Central Bank of Algeria, Salah-Eddine Taleb, held a consultative meeting to discuss the development of electronic payment methods.

The meeting aimed to define the conditions and means for the success of mobile payment processes, with the integration of all banks and the Algerian Post into this system, as stated in a press release from the Ministry of Finance.

“The participants discussed several proposals, including the organizational aspects of developing electronic payment methods, the documentation of payment service provider (PSP) platforms, and the identification of conditions and means to ensure the success of the payment process (Mobile Switch) with the integration of all banks and Algerian Post into this system, as well as the development of instant mobile payments,” the statement said.

The meeting, part of a series of consultative meetings organized by the Ministry of Finance to find solutions to common problems, was attended by the President of the Association of Banks and Financial Institutions and its General Delegate, the Directors-General of the Ministry of Finance, and officials from Satim (Interbank Automated Transactions and Monetics Company), as well as the Directors-General of Algérie Poste and Algérie Telecom.
