Council of ministers/ Firefighting: President Tebboune orders acquisition of 6 planes

ALGIERS- President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, ordered, this Sunday, at a meeting of the Council of Ministers, the launching of a call for tenders for the purchase of 06 medium-sized aircraft, specialized in extinguishing fires, in support of the fleet of planes and helicopters belonging to Algeria.
“To be able to successfully confront forest fires, an effective vigilance system that issues alerts with precise identification of intervention points is required,” stressed President Tebboune.
In this vein, President Tebboune has ordered the government to use the latest locally manufactured technologies, during the summer season, to protect forest areas.
He ordered the launch of a call for tenders for the benefit of start-ups in order to modernize the means and equipment for monitoring the forest cover by drones, and to coordinate with the staff of the People’s National Army to facilitate these vital operations and control this phenomenon.
