Council of Ministers’ meeting: President Tebboune’s decisions in response to bad weather

ALGIERS– During a meeting of the Council of Ministers on Sunday, the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune took decisive action to address the impact of recent bad weather on several wilayas of the country. The President ordered the mobilization of all necessary resources to provide assistance to affected families.

In a press release from the Council of Ministers, it was announced that the President had allocated a financial envelope of 10 billion dinars (1000 billion centimes) from the national fund for national disasters to cover the costs of damage caused by the floods. This allocation is to be made immediately, before the end of the current week.

Furthermore, President Tebboune issued firm instructions for the relocation of all affected families within 48 hours. The President also ordered urgent operations to rehabilitate damaged infrastructure and roads, as well as the provision of buses to transport schoolchildren to affected areas. Additionally, compensation will be granted to sailors and fishermen affected by the bad weather until activities can be relaunched at affected ports.

In a show of support for those who have suffered losses, President Tebboune instructed the Ministers of the Interior and National Solidarity to convey their condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the disaster.

The President’s swift and decisive actions demonstrate his commitment to the well-being of the people of the country. The government will continue to work tirelessly to provide assistance and support to those affected by the bad weather.
