ALGIERS- The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, chaired, this Sunday, a meeting of the Council of Ministers, according to a press release from the Presidency of the Republic.
Concerning the exploitation of the zinc and lead mine in Oued Amizour (wilaya of Béjaïa), President Tebboune, after recalling “the major economic importance of this project”, ordered “to reduce all the delays linked to the construction sites with the aim to accelerate the entry into operation of the project, especially since the stage of administrative regularizations is over.”
And to “adopt the 24-hour shift system to advance the work, given the positive impact of the project at the national level.”
Pilot farms
As for the pilot farms, President Tebboune indicated that “the results of this design did not meet the expectations of the state.”
Thus, he ordered “to develop a new in-depth vision, to be submitted within a month at the latest, which would identify a global approach capable of highlighting the new role of these farms and the legal framework that should govern and preserve their sustainability across all regions of the country, depending on the agricultural vocation of each region.”
He enjoined “to transform pilot farms into nurseries for animal and plant resources, a locomotive for research and development in the agricultural sector, as part of the process of developing the national economy.”
Forests and forest heritage
Regarding the draft law on forests and forest heritage, President Tebboune, before the approval of the said draft law, had underlined “the imperative to set and determine the objective of its revision in the context of updating and adapting the role of forests and forest heritage in the development and promotion of the national economy.”
He instructed “to grant more facilitations to Algerian families who work to raise the yield of the agricultural sector through the exploitation of forest areas, to double the income of these families in an optimal way without harming neither forest cover nor the environment.”
Reform of the Anade
With respect to the reform of the National Agency for Support and Development of Entrepreneurship (ANADE), the President of the Republic praised “the coordination and synergy between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, Start-ups, and Micro-enterprises.”
Emphasizing that “the tasks of this agency consisted of supporting and accompanying young people in their wealth and job-creating activities”, he instructed that “the litigation and corruption files arising from previous Issaba policies, within the framework of ANSEJ, must be dealt with at another level of competence, after setting up a commission responsible for settling them definitively.”
