ALGIERS- The Council of the Nation, as part of a delegation from the Arab Parliament (AP), participated in a visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, aimed at enhancing cooperation between Arab states’ parliaments, a statement from the Council announced on Thursday.
According to the statement, Senator Abdelkrim Koreichi, who serves as the President of the Foreign Affairs, Political, and National Security Committee at the Arab Parliament, took part in the delegation led by the President of the Arab Parliament, Adel Abderrahmane Al-Assoumi, during the visit to Saudi Arabia on February 27th and 28th, 2024. This visit was designed to facilitate cooperation and the exchange of visits and expertise among Arab countries’ parliaments.
The Arab parliamentary delegation was warmly received by Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh, President of the Shura Council (Consultative Assembly) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. During their visit, the delegation members engaged in numerous fraternal meetings, including discussions with the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Emir of Riyadh.
This visit underscores the commitment of both the Council of the Nation and the Arab Parliament to strengthen ties and collaboration among Arab states, particularly in matters concerning parliamentary affairs and regional cooperation.
