ALGIERS- The Council of the Nation expressed its admiration for President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s recent address to the representatives of both parliamentary chambers. The council, in a statement, reaffirmed its steadfast support for all initiatives undertaken by President Tebboune.
The Speaker of the Council of the Nation, Salah Goudjil, presided over a meeting of the council’s bureau, attended by parliamentary group leaders, committee heads, and the parliamentary controller. The meeting took place following the council’s participation in the extraordinary session of the two parliamentary chambers on Monday at the Palace of Nations.
The expanded bureau of the council conveyed its deep appreciation for the comprehensive speech delivered by President Tebboune. The President’s annual tradition of addressing the nation highlights achievements, current developments, and future prospects. This tradition is seen as a key element of President Tebboune’s wise political strategy and a valuable addition to Algeria’s new era.
The council expressed great satisfaction with the positive indicators presented in the President’s speech. Despite exceptional international and regional circumstances, the achievements of laborious work and comprehensive reforms are evident across various sectors.
President Tebboune’s speech reassured the Algerian people, fostering optimism about the rational and logical direction of the new Algeria. The council emphasized that these indicators align with constitutional safeguards and the revolutionary legacy inherited from generation to generation.
The bureau of the council praised President Tebboune’s series of profound reforms, including the establishment of constitutional institutions for youth, strengthening social protection, supporting purchasing power, consolidating justice, and promoting investment. The council also commended the ongoing transition toward a knowledge-based economy, digitization, and innovation.
The President’s attention to national memory and special consideration for Algerians abroad were highlighted as significant aspects. Algeria’s renewed focus on its African identity and unwavering support for the right to self-determination, especially for the Palestinian and Sahrawi causes, were also applauded.
The council emphasized the importance of unity around the institutions of the Republic, particularly the Algerian People’s National Army (ANP). It called for collective efforts to thwart any conspiracies against Algeria.
In a press statement following the meeting, Salah Goudjil stressed that the extended bureau meeting provided an opportunity to express the council’s opinion on the significant and historic speech delivered by President Tebboune. He underscored the need to prepare for the upcoming phase and work towards implementing the crucial directives outlined in the President’s address.
