Counterterrorism, fight against organized crime (May 31 to June 6): Distinct operations with qualitative results

ALGIERS- The Ministry of National Defense (MDN) released the operational report of the units of the People’s National Army (ANP) for the period spanning from May 31 to June 6. The report highlights the successful efforts of the ANP in countering terrorism and organized crime.
According to the report, 13 individuals who were providing support to terrorist groups were apprehended during counter-terrorism operations. Additionally, the ANP, in collaboration with various security services, intercepted 46 drug traffickers and prevented the introduction of 4 quintals and 1 kg of treated Hashish from the borders with Morocco. The ANP also seized 417,005 psychotropic tablets during these operations.
These achievements are a testament to the ANP’s unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and security in the country. The MDN and the ANP remain steadfast in their efforts to combat terrorism and organized crime, and will continue to work tirelessly to ensure the safety and well-being of the people of our nation.
