ALGIERS- The People’s Credit of Algeria (CPA) has successfully reached another milestone in its process of entering the stock market, as announced by the Commission for the Organization and Monitoring of Stock Market Operations (COSOB) on Saturday.
COSOB confirmed that CPA, with 30% of its capital to be opened to the public through an initial public offering (IPO), equivalent to 100 billion DZD, has submitted its request for listing on the Algiers Stock Exchange.
Youcef Bouzenada, the president of COSOB, explained that this request “includes a draft information document intended for public disclosure, covering the bank’s organization, financial situation, and the evolution of its activities.”
The draft information document and the related dossier are “currently under review by the technical services of COSOB,” said the same official, emphasizing that once this process is completed, the COSOB board will hold a plenary session to decide on granting the “visa,” authorizing the public bank to proceed with the IPO through the issuance of securities.
