ALGIERS- A quality and authenticity label for handicraft products will be put in place as part of the measures taken for the promotion and preservation of handicrafts as well as to guarantee the quality and authenticity of the artisanal products of Algeria , said a press release from the Prime Minister’s office.
“This is the label called +Artisanat d’Algérie – Algerian Handcrafts+, that will certify the quality and authenticity of handicrafts made in Algeria”, according to a presentation given by the Minister of Tourism and Handcrafts, Yacine Hamadi, at the weekly Government meeting.
“This system is part of a series of labels that will be put in place to promote local products, such as; Constantine brassware, Bider pottery, Ghardaïa carpets and Babar rug,” the statement added.
