ALGIERS– The Prime Minister, Aïmen Benabderrahmane, opened, Thursday, at the International Conference Center (Abdellatif Rahal), in Algiers, the work of the forum on food security in durum wheat, which is held under the high patronage of the President of the Republic Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
Just before the opening of this forum, organized by the Algerian Economy Renewal Council (CREA), Mr. Benabderrahmane visited the stands of an exhibition organized on the sidelines of the meeting, to present Algeria’s great capacities in terms of durum wheat cultivation and food security.
The participants in the one-day forum, which opened in the presence of Mr. Abdelaziz Khellaf, the Director of the Cabinet at the Presidency of the Republic, and members of the government, will address several themes including the mechanisms to be put in place in Algeria to achieve the self-sufficiency in durum wheat, globalization and food security.
Two workshops are also on the program during which food security and agriculture in Saharan areas will be discussed. At the end of the work of this forum, the participants will formulate a series of recommendations.
