Algiers, Algeria | June 23rd, 2024 — Kamel Moula, President of the Algerian Economic Renewal Council (CREA), underscored the necessity of reforming business councils to enhance their effectiveness in promoting economic exchanges. Speaking at a forum titled “The Role of Business Councils in Activating Economic Diplomacy,” held at Hotel Eurasia, Moula emphasized strategic reforms to align these councils with national economic objectives.

Addressing Business Councils’ Role

Moula highlighted the critical role of business councils in advancing economic diplomacy and bolstering Algeria’s economic interests globally. He emphasized the need for these councils to operate cohesively throughout the year, focusing on strategic initiatives that support national goals, including attracting foreign investments and expanding non-hydrocarbon exports.

“It is imperative that members of business councils form a unified and proactive bloc throughout the year,” Moula stated, calling for their activities to be more strategic and impactful in achieving Algeria’s economic objectives. He stressed the importance of aligning business council actions with Algeria’s economic strategies aimed at diversifying the economy and reducing reliance on hydrocarbon sectors.

Moula reiterated the significance of strategic realignment to facilitate deeper engagement with international partners and enhance Algeria’s economic competitiveness. By reforming business councils, Algeria aims to capitalize on economic opportunities effectively, fostering sustainable economic growth and prosperity.

Kamel Moula’s advocacy for reforming business councils reflects Algeria’s commitment to revitalizing economic exchanges and strengthening its global economic position.
