Croatia’ State Secretary for Political Affairs: “Algeria, Croatia have “promising” common future”

ALGIERS– Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad Ramtane Lamamra received, Tuesday, the State Secretary for Political Affairs of the Croatian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Gordan Grlik Radman, the ministry said in a statement.
“The talks between the two parties focused on ways to deepen the political understanding between the two countries and strengthen bilateral cooperation in various sectors,” said the same source.
The two sides also discussed “the results of the third session of political consultations, held earlier that morning at the headquarters of the ministry under the joint chairmanship of the Secretary General (SG), Amar Belani, and the Croatian Secretary of State, Frano Matusic,” the statement added.
In this regard, Mr. Lamamra welcomed the dynamic that characterizes the Algerian-Croatian relations and the promising prospects for the strengthening of the economic dimension in the light of the common historical heritage between the two countries.
In a statement to the press after his meeting with Mr. Lamamra, the Croatian official specified that his visit to Algeria was aimed at “strengthening relations between the two countries in various fields”. “I had talks with Foreign Minister Lamamra on ways to strengthen bilateral relations,” he said.
He added that he also had talks with the Ministers of Energy and Transport on “the possibilities of cooperation between the two countries”.
On this occasion, he affirmed that Algeria is a “friendly country”, a “strategic partner” in the region and an “important country in terms of energy, a field to which the European Union attaches great interest”. believing that cooperation between the two countries could include sectors other than energy.
According to him, Algeria and Croatia have a “promising” common future.
