ALGIERS- In a momentous ceremony held at the King Fahd Dakar Hotel, under the patronage of His Excellency President Macky Sall, the President of the General Confederation of Algerian Enterprises (CGEA), Mrs. Saida Neghza, graced the graduation of the Master of African University Excellence on July 22, 2023. This historic event marked the first African promotion of the program, which has been an exceptional platform for knowledge and innovation on the continent. The ceremony also served as a platform for deep reflection on the repercussions of the Russia-Ukraine war on the global food system.

In her address, Mrs. Saida Neghza, a specially invited guest on this landmark occasion, emphasized the undeniable significance of knowledge and innovation in driving economic development in Africa and beyond. As the world’s attention increasingly turns towards research, development, and technological innovation, she urged young African minds to rise to the challenge and become pioneers in tackling the pressing issues of today’s rapidly evolving world.

“The real battle of our era is being played out in research and development, and in the genius and ability of our young people to innovate and master new technologies,” stated Mrs. Neghza. “They possess the innate capacity to face the unique challenges of our time head-on and create sustainable solutions for a brighter future.”

One of the central themes of the ceremony was the food security challenges faced by nations worldwide, magnified by multiple conflicts and the consequences of global warming. Mrs. Neghza underlined the urgent need to address these pressing concerns collectively and harness Africa’s vast resources for a resilient and sustainable future.

“Africa, with its vast deposits of arable land and significant water reserves, stands as a beacon of hope in the face of global food crises,” she proclaimed. “Moreover, the continent’s economic diversity fosters greater complementarity and lays the foundation for inclusive growth and prosperity.”

The Master of African University Excellence program has been a pivotal force in nurturing talent and fostering cooperation among African nations. Its first promotion represents a significant step forward in elevating the standards of education and research in Africa. Mrs. Neghza praised the organizers and participants for their dedication and commitment to the pursuit of knowledge, hailing them as ambassadors of positive change in their respective countries.
