Dean of Djamaâ El-Djazaïr Welcomes Chairman of Iran’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee

Algiers, Algeria | November 27th, 2024 — On Monday, November 25, 2024, the Minister of State and Dean of Djamaâ El-Djazaïr, Mohamed Al-Mamoun Al-Qassimi Al-Hassani, welcomed Dr. Ibrahim Azizi, Chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of Iran’s Majlis-e-Shura. The meeting, which was requested by the Iranian guest, also included MP Moussa Khirfi, the President of the Algeria-Iran Friendship Committee, and the Iranian Ambassador to Algeria, Mohammad Reza Babai.

During the meeting, Al-Qassimi Al-Hassani highlighted the longstanding and robust relations between Algeria and Iran. He emphasized the significance of these relations, especially in the context of the broader challenges facing the Muslim Ummah, particularly the ongoing Zionist aggression against Gaza. Al-Qassimi expressed Algeria’s unwavering commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause and denounced the grave injustices faced by the Palestinian people.

On the other hand, Dr. Ibrahim Azizi expressed his gratitude to the Minister of State for the opportunity to visit this prestigious Islamic institution. He underscored the high level of cooperation between Algeria and Iran, noting that the ties between the two nations have been continually growing, especially in the areas of mutual respect, strategic alignment, and shared values. Azizi also condemned the atrocities being committed by the Zionist regime against the Palestinian people and reiterated Iran’s firm stance against these injustices.

This high-level dialogue between Algeria and Iran reflects the strong partnership between the two countries, founded on mutual respect and shared interests in both regional and international issues, particularly the support for Palestinian sovereignty and the fight against oppression.

In the course of the meeting, both sides agreed on the importance of furthering bilateral cooperation across various sectors, including inter-parliamentary collaboration, and enhancing solidarity in facing common regional and global challenges.
