ALGIERS- During a working visit on Tuesday to the Bouira and Tizi-Ouzou provinces, Minister of Public Works Mr. Lakhdar Rekhroukh inspected several significant projects in these two provinces.
In Bouira province, Mr. Rekhroukh examined the maintenance and repair work on the East-West Highway in the municipality of Bouderbalah, northwest of the province. The ongoing work is expected to be completed by the end of February, according to project officials.
Additionally, in Bouira province, Minister Rekhroukh received a detailed briefing on the progress of the construction of the expressway linking Tizi-Ouzou province to the East-West Highway from Djebahia in Bouira province, covering a distance of 48 kilometers.
Rekhroukh Emphasizes Adherence to Deadlines
Regarding the 12 kilometers of road within Bouira province, the progress rate is estimated to be over 63%, while the progress rate for the construction of the Djebahia viaduct stands at 71%.
Furthermore, in Tizi-Ouzou province, the Minister of Public Works first inspected the construction of the Draa El Mizane tunnel, which marks the border between the two provinces.
According to project officials, the progress rate for this project is approximately 61%.
Accompanied by the governors of Bouira, Mr. Lamouri Abdelkrim, and Tizi-Ouzou, Mr. Djillali Doumi, Minister Rekhroukh urged the companies responsible for the project’s execution to accelerate the pace of work to meet the delivery deadline. The aim is to put this significant project into operation by November of this year.
