Diplomacy: Emir of Qatar receives credentials of newly-appointed Algerian ambassador

ALGIERS- The Emir of Qatar, Tamim ben Hamad Al Thani, welcomed, on Monday, the new Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Peoples Democratic Republic of Algeria to the State of Qatar, Salah Attia, as he presented his credentials.
The appointment of Salah Attia was accredited by the government of the Emirate of Qatar in March, as confirmed by a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad.
Salah Attia is a seasoned diplomat, having served as ambassador several times and as Director General of Resources and Director General of IDRI (Diplomatic Institute and International Relations). In a letter addressed to the Algerian community in Qatar, he expressed his unwavering support and conveyed greetings from the highest authorities of Algeria, including President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
As the newly-appointed Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Algerian Republic to the State of Qatar, Salah Attia is honored to represent his country and is pleased with the prestigious position enjoyed by the Algerian community in Qatar.
Algeria and Qatar have established a strong and enduring relationship, marked by mutual respect and cooperation. The two nations have worked together on a range of issues, including economic development, security, and cultural exchange.
In recent years, Algeria and Qatar have deepened their ties through increased trade and investment. Qatar has become a major investor in Algeria’s energy sector, while Algerian companies have expanded their presence in Qatar’s construction and infrastructure industries.
Furthermore, the two countries have collaborated on regional security issues, including the fight against terrorism and extremism. Algeria and Qatar have also worked together to promote cultural exchange, with initiatives such as the establishment of cultural centers and the exchange of artists and scholars.
