Diplomacy: Uncovering a deceptive Moroccan scheme

ALGIERS- The Prime Minister of Cape Verde, Ulisses Correia, made an illegal declaration in support of the Moroccan occupation regime. However, the President of Cape Verde, José Maria Pereira, quickly reprimanded him, reminding that the Saharawi people have the right to decide their own destiny through a referendum of self-determination, and that the SADR is a full founding member of the African Union. This diplomatic incident, which thankfully lasted only a few days, highlights the disruptive power of Morocco’s diplomacy and secret services, which are fueled by corruption and blackmail.

Morocco has a history of deceiving countries, including Spain, France, and others, by setting up illegal fake consulates in the occupied areas of Western Sahara to legitimize their occupation of Saharawi territory. Cape Verde is one of the African countries that has fallen victim to this scheme. Sources familiar with the matter suggest that some Cape Verdean political figures, including those in the current government, were corrupted to push the country into such a serious violation of international legality and the sacred principles of the African Union.

Despite the deception, the situation was resolved quickly, and justice prevailed. It is important to remember that no matter how far one may lie, the truth will always come to light.
