Algiers- In a significant diplomatic meeting on Monday, the Foreign Minister of Algeria, Ahmed Attaf, welcomed his Tunisian counterpart, Nabil Ammar, to discuss the evolving situation in the occupied Palestinian territories. The meeting comes in the wake of continued Zionist aggression against the besieged Gaza Strip, drawing the attention of the international community.
In a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the discussions during the meeting were described as an essential opportunity to evaluate the developments in Palestine, particularly in light of the sustained aggression being faced by the people of Gaza. The meeting aimed to foster a deeper understanding of the ongoing situation and explore avenues to restore peace to the region.
During the meeting, the two ministers engaged in a comprehensive exchange of views, addressing both international and regional reactions, as well as diplomatic efforts aimed at putting an end to the ongoing aggression and reviving the stalled peace process in the Middle East.
The Tunisian Foreign Minister, Nabil Ammar, is currently in Algeria as part of his participation in the 20th session of the Ministerial Meeting of African-Nordic Countries, scheduled to commence on Tuesday. This high-level meeting is expected to foster stronger diplomatic ties and encourage cooperative efforts in addressing a range of regional and global challenges.
The visit of Minister Ammar underscores the longstanding collaboration between Algeria and Tunisia, both of whom are deeply committed to finding a peaceful resolution to the Palestinian conflict. Their consultations serve as a testament to the shared desire for regional stability and peace, and their engagement in the forthcoming Ministerial Meeting is expected to reinforce the bonds of cooperation between African and Nordic nations.
