Diplomatic Relations Strengthened: President Tebboune Receives Tanzanian FM

ALGIERS – In a significant display of commitment to fostering strong diplomatic ties and enhancing bilateral cooperation, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune of Algeria warmly welcomed Stergomena Tax, the Tanzanian Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, at the Presidential Palace on Tuesday. The meeting marked a pivotal moment in the relationship between the two nations, as they jointly seek to expand collaborations in vital political and economic domains.

The highlight of the visit was the 5th session of the Joint Algerian-Tanzanian Cooperation Commission, which the Tanzanian Minister co-chaired alongside Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf. This commission serves as a crucial platform for deliberating and devising strategies to propel the partnership between Algeria and Tanzania to new heights.

During the opening address of the commission, Ahmed Attaf expressed his strong conviction in the common commitment shared by President Tebboune and his Tanzanian counterpart, Samia Suluhu Hassan, to bolster the bilateral relationship. He lauded the consistent progress achieved by both nations under their visionary leadership, especially in terms of political and economic reforms.

“The steps taken by Algeria and Tanzania under the guidance of our leaders constitute the main guarantor for injecting new vigor into our cooperation process. Together, we have laid a strong foundation that will propel our partnership forward in the priority sectors we jointly aim to address,” stated Ahmed Attaf.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the two sides to discuss various key areas of mutual interest, including trade and investment, security cooperation, infrastructure development, education, and cultural exchanges. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing economic cooperation and exploring new avenues to facilitate bilateral trade and investment.

As the two nations move forward with renewed vigor, the 5th session of the Joint Algerian-Tanzanian Cooperation Commission stands as a testament to their shared commitment to building a prosperous and mutually beneficial partnership. With a clear roadmap and dedicated efforts from both sides, Algeria and Tanzania are poised to chart a course of sustainable development and progress in the years to come.
